12 Major Differences between Bacterial Pili and Fimbriae

The general features of fimbriae and pili are in their filamentous structures and consists of protein. Those structures are extended from the surface of a cell and can play various significant role in bacterial cell.

We generally observe Fimbriae in gram negative as well as gram positive bacteria but it is shorter compared to pili. Pili are bit longer than fimbriae and there number is very few in a cell compare to fimbriae. Watchn the video to know more about it.
